Master your craft and reflect God’s love for creation as you study the arts at NGU.

Personalized Tracks
Ceramics. Drawing. Graphic Art. Painting. Photography. Printmaking. And Sculpture. Your studies, customized to your craft, at NGU.
Average Class Size
Improve your skills. Collaborate with your peers. Receive personal guidance from experienced professors and guest artists. All thanks to NGU’s smaller class sizes.
Major Productions
NGU’s theatre department plans two major productions each semester. Display your talents as you paint backdrops, build sets, or design costumes. Put your artistic abilities to good use for all to see!

All Things Begin with Creativity

Think outside the canvas as you master all aspects of painting. Color mixing, composition, and technical skills. Oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Realism, impressionism, modern art, and more. Even examine the history, theory, and philosophy behind art itself.

Then, prepare for a wide variety of careers rooted in the world of painting. Freelance or a commissioned painter, of course. But also, instructor or tutor, private/public curator, art therapist or critic, gallery/museum director, and more. Pursue your passion, wherever it leads, through a BA degree in art painting.

Experience Learning as You Explore Your Craft

Your Creation on Display

NGU’s College of Communication and Fine Arts hosts several exhibits each year. Enjoy the work of your peers and professors while showcasing your own creations for all to see.

Publish Your Passions

Gain exposure and refine your talents through NGU’s literary and arts publication, “The Mountain Laurel.” Published work in an annual magazine + helpful feedback from professional artists. All to help you grow as an artist.

Our Studio, Your Space

You’re free to create with access to NGU’s state-of-the-art private studios. Ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpting … you’ve got it! Because being a studio artist requires a studio, after all.

A Professional (and Personal) Portfolio

Our experienced professors help you create a portfolio to showcase your knowledge and ability. Highlight your talent and impress future employers – now that’s mastering your craft!
