Master of Arts in Christian Ministry
Occupation: Pastor, First Baptist Church Icard
You might say Michael Perdue (MCM ʼ10) grew up on the NGU Tigerville Campus. His church brought him to campus for several Lifeway FUGE summer camps as a teenager. God called him to ministry at FUGE, and he brought teenagers to FUGE, including his own children. “NGU has always been a special place for me,” he said.
He is a Taylorsville, NC, native. He was raised in East Taylorsville Baptist, became a Christian at age 11, and was called to vocational ministry at age 13. He served more than five years as the High Shoals Baptist pastor in Mooresboro, NC, and several years in ministry with youth and children in Bostic, Shelby, Kings Mountain, and Taylorsville, NC.
He received his Master of Christian Ministry degree from NGU and says the University’s reputation of excellence in ministry preparation, advancing the Gospel in all walks of life, and the convenience were the deciding factors for him to attend. Micheal teaches in the T. Walter Brashier Graduate School of Ministry and serves as the president of the NC Baptist Convention for 2021.
