NGU’s Duncan to present Business and Leadership Professional Development Seminar

Tigerville, SC (February 28, 2020) North Greenville University’s (NGU) Tim Brashier Campus in Greer will host a Business and Leadership Professional Development seminar “If You Know the ‘Why’ Any ‘How’ Will Work: The Role of Work in Living Out Your Mission.” The seminar will be held at 405 Lancaster Avenue on Thursday, Mar 19, 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.
NGU’s Business and Leadership Professional Development series exists to boost attendees’ skillset quickly, gaining insights from industry experts that can be applied on the job. The seminars are open to the public.
This workshop is for all levels of participants – whether they are in a new manager’s position or a seasoned C-Suite professional. Dr. John Duncan, dean of the NGU College of Business & Entrepreneurship and professor of accounting, will lead this workshop. Duncan will assist the participant in defining and clarifying how work is instrumental in God’s mission for our lives. By understanding our “Why,” we become better employees, managers, owners, and professionals.
Duncan holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and he received a Ph.D. in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi.
He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina and a Certified Kingdom Advisor®. Duncan’s prior academic leadership roles include serving as Associate Dean at Anderson University, Dean at Charleston Southern University, Dean and Director of the Church Finance Institute at William Carey University, and Department Chair at Mississippi College.
In addition, he held the John Luffey Endowed Professorship in Accounting at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Duncan’s research has been presented at numerous academic conferences and has been published in several leading accounting and business journals. He received the Outstanding Intellectual Contributions Award in 2003 for the College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
