NGU Online M.Div. Program Named Most Affordable for 2020

Tigerville, SC (April 29, 2020) OnlineU.org, an online resource for providing rankings based on affordability, accessibility, and quality for prospective students, has released its Most Affordable Online Programs rankings for 2020. North Greenville University’s (NGU) online Master of Divinity program ranks No. 7. The schools that make up the most affordable options for obtaining an online master’s degree price at less than $18,000.
“The College of Christian Studies is thankful that we can offer a quality Master of Divinity degree at a reasonable cost. The Lord’s blessing as a debt-free institution enables us to keep educational costs as low as possible,” said NGU College of Christian Studies Dean Dr. Walter E. Johnson.
Johnson says the 75-hour M.Div. program doesn’t pit the academic against the practical; instead, it strives to make the curriculum an integrated tool for shaping ministers of the gospel.
NGU’s program provides the knowledge and skills required for various ministry positions such as effective evangelism, leadership skills, principles of biblical interpretation, principles of spiritual growth, relational discipleship, a theological framework for effective ministry, and world missions.
Amy Kincaid (expected ’20), from Morganton, NC, will be NGU’s first online M.Div. graduate this May. She is currently a program supervisor for the Guardian ad Litem program with the NC Administrative Office of Courts (AOC).
“This is no surprise that NGU is a top-ranked school. The M.Div. program is challenging, and the professors hold the students to high accountability. The cost affordability is a huge part of my attending,” said Kincaid.
She says the professors are very supportive and willing to assist and give you feedback when needed.
“Even with the classes being online, you develop a bond with your classmates through the discussion boards and look forward to seeing familiar names at the start of each new term,” she said.
After graduation, Kincaid plans to assist her pastor and church in ministerial duties, pastoral care, and chaplaincy work. She is also using what she has learned in the degree program in her current job, working with families, and advocating for the best interest of children.
“With God’s grace, my goal is to make a difference for Christ, and I trust this degree has prepared me to be a spiritual leader in my church and community. There is no greater way to show my appreciation than to work for His Kingdom and His glory,” she said.
