  • Who is eligible to attend?

NGU extends invitations to the most gifted and accomplished first-year applicants. The academic profile of students who attend can be found by viewing the scholarship application criteria. Students must submit a completed application by the deadline each year to qualify for an invitation.

  • What should I wear?

You will be interviewing with current faculty and professionals, so business attire is recommended for the weekend.

  • How should I prepare?

A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast are a great place to start. In addition, we encourage you to be yourself. Be prepared to discuss your passions, achievements, and future goals.

  • Can I bring guests?

Each student may bring two guests, such as a parent or guardian, on Friday evening. Friday’s program includes a special dinner for competitors and their families, along with a session for guests following dinner.

Saturday is designed for our student competitors. We encourage families to check out award-winning Greenville, SC, while students participate in the on-campus scholarship elements.

  • Do I have to be present to participate?

Students must be present on campus for the weekend in order to participate.

  • When will I be notified of my scholarship results?

You can expect to receive notification from the weekend event within two weeks. You will receive notification via a mailed letter.

  • Does this scholarship stack on top of the one I’ve already received from NGU?

No, this scholarship will replace any merit scholarship offer you have already received from NGU.

  • Are these scholarship offers binding?

No, however, included in the official notification is an agreement for you to return, letting us know if you intend to accept or decline your scholarship offer. This will be due by March 30, 2021.

  • Where can I stay?

If you are joining us from out of town, we recommend these hotels for your consideration.

NGU Testimonial
“NGU’s scholarship competition was a significant part of my college journey. I was very nervous to present my work and go through the panel interviews, but I was so proud of how far I’d come. When I attended the event, I immediately felt at home and knew that North Greenville was where I was supposed to be. I am thankful for the opportunity NGU gave me to start my college journey that laid the foundation for where I am today.”Grayson Higgins
