North Greenville University welcomes international applicants to consider our undergraduate and graduate programs! Apply as an International Student if you are a non-US citizen and will be traveling on an F-1 Visa. 

Start your application today! You can save your progress as you go and come back to finish when you’re ready. To complete the application, you will need:

  • $35 application fee (non-refundable)
  • High school and/or college transcripts, evaluated by an approved transcript evaluation company (see details below). 
  • Official English Proficiency Scores, to be sent directly to NGU by the testing organization. 

If you have previously attended a post-secondary institution (college or university), you will also need:

  • Official transcripts sent directly from all learning institutions previously attended in the U.S.
  • Official transcripts from all learning institutions previously attended outside the U.S., to be evaluated by one of the approved transcript evaluation companies, listed below.

International students interested in fully online programs are generally ineligible for student visas. Most student visas, including the F-1 visa commonly used in the US, require physical attendance on campus for a minimum number of credit hours per semester.

  • Undergraduate Student – New, First Time
    Application Process
    In addition to the admissions application, the following documents are required for application completion:
    • US High School Transcript (if available)
    • International High School Transcript Evaluation
    • English Proficiency Exam
      • All new students are required to show English proficiency.
      • Tests/scores will only be accepted if they have been taken within the last 2 calendar years.
      • The following exams, along with the minimum score listed, are accepted at North Greenville.
        • SAT – Evidence Based Reading/Writing Section | Required sub score: 500
        • TOEFLiBT (Internet Based Test) | Required score: 75
        • IELTS Required score: 6.5 minimum on any section
        • Duolingo | Required score: 100
        • ACT – English Section | Required sub score: 22
  • Undergraduate Student – Transfer

    Application Process

    In addition to the admissions application, the following documents are required for application completion:

    • US High School Transcript (if available)
    • International High School Transcript Evaluation (for all college level work completed outside the US)
      • A Course by Course evaluation is required. 
      • The evaluation must also include a cumulative grade point average (GPA).
      • Evaluation must be completed by one of the following approved companies:
      • If less than 12 hours of college work has been completed, a high school evaluation must also be supplied.
      • If less than 24 hours of college work has been completed, a high school evaluation must be supplied in order for the student to be considered for merit aid.
    • All College Transcripts from schools attended in the US
    • English proficiency is required unless you are a citizen and completed secondary school from one of the countries on our exempt list.
      • Transfer students can submit English Proficiency scores from an approved English proficiency exam OR transfer students must show at least 24 transfer hours taken AND at least 2 transferrable college-level English courses (passing with a C or better).
        • Tests/scores will only be accepted if they have been taken within the last 2 calendar years.
        • The following exams, along with the minimum score listed, are accepted at North Greenville.

    • Proof of financial support is required before North Greenville University can issue the I-20. All international students must show proof in writing, along with certified documents, that they have financial support before enrolling at the University.  
  • Graduate Student

    Key Points

    • International Students are encouraged to begin studies in August with the Fall 1 term.  If you are considering another start date, please talk with your admissions counselor.
    • International Student Application and Supporting Document deadline: May 1.

    Before North Greenville University can process the I-20, you will be expected to provide financial documentation for tuition and fees for your first two semesters of study, in addition to living expenses.  You will also be required to show financial documentation when you go to your visa interview.

    Tuition and fees vary by department and the information provided below is a general estimate and may be different than your program’s actual costs.  Living expenses are also estimated and may vary depending on your needs.

    Tuition and Fees based on 24 credit hours per year:

    Tuition: $9960 – $12,600

    Books: $960

    Technology Fee: $440

    Housing: $9600

    Food/personal expenses: $4000

    Transportation: $2400

    Total estimated expenses for 10 months and up to 24 credit hours:

    $27,360 – $30,000
