North Greenville University welcomes students from all backgrounds. We claim graduates from various denominations such as Baptists, Methodists, Assemblies of God, Church of God, Presbyterians, and Lutherans, among others.

Graduates from the College of Christian Studies spread throughout the world serving as pastors, youth ministers, children’s ministers, church administrators, missionaries, college and seminary professors, military and hospital chaplains, and directors of Christian associations, as well as in many other areas of ministry. Some students even use their undergraduate degrees as “springboards” to other careers in fields such as law, journalism, and health-related vocations.

Areas of Study

North Greenville University’s College of Christian Studies faculty are deeply committed to preparing students who sense a call to ministry. Ministry preparation entails spiritual, academic, and practical training. Regarding spiritual development, faculty seek to shepherd students by encouraging them to pursue an authentic, growing relationship with Christ in a local church context. Spiritual development is foundational to ministry preparation. As history shows, the church’s health (and society’s) has flourished or deteriorated based on its ministry leaders’ godliness.

Regarding academic training, our faculty aim to equip students by increasing their knowledge of the essential academic disciplines. Biblical Studies, Church History, Theology, Philosophy, Ethics, Evangelism, Missions, and Ministry are key disciplines, though there are many others.

Finally, as for practical ministry skills, such as sharing the gospel, discipling, preaching, teaching, leading, planning, and thinking critically about worldviews and systems, faculty strive to equip students in principles and practices grounded in Scripture. The Bible, rather than cultural fads or pragmatism, must guide one’s ministry practice.

If you sense a call to ministry, we invite you to study in North Greenville University’s College of Christian Studies. Our faculty uphold a longstanding tradition of biblical faithfulness and strong academics, and our graduates serve Christ around the world in diverse roles. Traditional roles within a church setting include pastor, associate pastor, student minister, children’s minister, and missionary. Roles outside the church’s “walls” include campus minister, denominational leader, educator, and military and hospital chaplain. Regardless of one’s calling, our faculty are committed to equipping students for ministry “to build up the body of Christ.” (Eph 4:12)
