Tigerville, SC (April 26, 2022) On Wednesday, April 20, North Greenville University (NGU) held a retirement recognition at a faculty-staff chapel, honoring longstanding faculty and staff for their contributions to the university and the North Greenville community.
The university recognized six faculty and staff members who are retiring this year. Everyone received a commemorative gift acknowledging their tenure.
Those recognized were:

Dr. Linwood Hagin – Associate Provost and School of Communication Professor
Lisa Hagin – Hester Memorial Library Technical Services Assistant/Archive
Ruth McWhite – Director of Women’s Ministry

Each year during the annual faculty-staff recognition event, NGU recognizes two employees with the Lamar Chapman Distinguished Service Award. The award is given to one faculty member and one staff member who have distinguished themselves through exemplary service to the university.

This year’s faculty award was presented to Dr. Christina Eddy, associate professor of biology from the College of Humanities and Sciences. Eddy is also NGU’s South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities’ (SCICU) 2022 Excellence in Teaching recipient. Eddy has served on the North Greenville faculty since 2005.
The Staff Award recipient must also be a full-time NGU staff member or administrative faculty member with a minimum of five years of consecutive service, must have a track record of distinguished service to the university as acknowledged by current and former students, staff peers, and other friends of the university, and must model a commitment to the university’s mission and core values, as well as personal spiritual formation.
The staff award was presented to Tim Patterson, director of network and desktop services. Patterson has been a part of the Office of Information Technology Services since 2004.
