    In preparing for your independent dissertation project, you also take courses to give you a solid research foundation:

    • EDL 761 Quantitative Research: Knowledge and skills in applied statistics.
    • EDL 762 Qualitative Research: Knowledge and skills in qualitative methods commonly used in educational settings.

Dissertation

Your dissertation completes the degree. It comprises research, writing, and a formal defense. While this is primarily independent work, you are guided through the steps by three courses:

EDL 763 Dissertation Proposal (3 hrs.): From concept through IRB to full proposal.

EDL 764 Dissertation 1 (3 hrs.): Collect and analyze data; begin writing your dissertation.

EDL 765 Dissertation 2 (3 hrs.): Complete your writing; prepare to defend your dissertation.
