Tigerville, SC (October 2, 2018) When North Greenville student Abi Waters (expected ’20) traveled to Brazil on a mission trip this past summer, she found that the trip was an experience that she will treasure forever. She decided to share details of her experience on her blog site.

“I’ve always known that various cultures exist, but to experience it firsthand was something entirely new for me,” wrote Waters.

The blog post was published by the Baptist Press, the official news service of the Southern Baptist Convention headquartered in Nashville, TN. Since the blog was published on August 21, it has been shared over 270 times on Facebook.

Waters, a Christian Studies major, says she has been passionate about writing since she was in elementary school.

“I started a blog in the summer of 2016 to write for my friends and family once a month, and it has grown since then,” said Waters. “My passion is pointing people to see God’s glory through my writing.”

Waters plans to graduate in the spring of 2020 and hopes to become a missionary in a foreign country where she can teach English as a second language.
