Spring 2022 Commencement Speaker Announced

Tigerville, SC (April 25, 2022) North Greenville University (NGU) has announced that C. Dan Adams, co-founder, president, and CEO of The Capital Corporation, will deliver the Commencement Address at the university’s Spring 2022 Commencement at Younts Stadium on Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m.
“Dan Adams has followed in his late father Bill’s footsteps as a transformational leader for church and society. He is tireless in championing causes he believes in and mentoring the next generation of leaders,” said NGU President Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr. “We are deeply grateful for his long-standing support of NGU, and I am personally looking forward to hearing the challenge he plans to bring to our graduates this spring.”

With more than 30 years of experience in finance, Adams has directed more than 200 merger and acquisition transactions and advised companies in various sectors, including finance, health care, manufacturing, service, home décor, restaurant, transportation, and waste industries. Adams is chairman and serves as a board member of several privately held companies in the Southeast.
He is an active private equity investor with investments in various industries. He is involved in civic affairs and serves on several non-profit boards, including USC Upstate, chairman of Palmetto Promise Institute, The Greenville Museum Association, Artisphere Festival, the Upstate Heart Ball, the Rose Ball, and the Greenville Symphony. He also has served on the Boys and Girls Club of the Upstate board and is past president of the South Carolina Investors Network. In 2015, he was named one of Greenville’s Most Influential People by Upstate Business Magazine.
Before co-founding The Capital Corporation, Adams was with C&S National Bank for 12 years. He graduated from the University of South Carolina Upstate and the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University.
He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and the son of the late NGU alumnus Rev. William Carey “Bill” Adams (’57) and the late Shirley Adams.
