Tigerville, SC (October 31, 2019) The North Greenville University (NGU) School of Theatre ushers in the Christmas season with their fall production of “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley.” The piece is a sequel to Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” set two years after the novel ends.

The focus of the story is the middle sister, Mary Bennet, played by Lois Hade (expected ’19), and Lord Arthur de Bourgh, an unexpected guest, played by Wyatt Coker (expected ’21).

“Hade and Coker bring a heart-warming, nerdish charm to the characters of Mary and Arthur, as they struggle to find their identities, authentic voices and paths into an uncertain future,” states Amy Dunlap, director of the show and assistant professor of theatre, and head of performance at NGU.

“Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley” offers something for everyone. Director Dunlap declares that it is a must-see show.

“‘Pride and Prejudice’/Jane Austen fans will love seeing these characters live in a new story.  Even if you don’t know ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ this show is warm and funny and smart and full of family interactions and romance,” she said.

The show runs Nov. 14-16 and 21-23, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online or by contacting the Billingsley Theatre Box Office at 864.977.7085. Tickets are $17 for premium seats, $12 for adults, and $5 for a child/student.
