Oobe Founder to Address May Graduates

Tigerville, SC (April 22, 2019) North Greenville University (NGU) has announced that Mike Pereyo, founder and co-CEO of OOBE, an interdisciplinary apparel design company based in Greenville, will deliver the keynote address for the university’s May Commencement on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. in Melvin and Dollie Younts Stadium on the NGU campus.
Pereyo grew up in North Augusta and attended Clemson University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and International Marketing. He regularly speaks to students, entrepreneurial groups, and manufacturing organizations throughout the United States.
Pereyo is a member of Grace Church in Greenville and a director of Fold of Honor Palmetto Chapter. He also advises several early-stage privately-held companies and serves for several nonprofit organizations.
Born in Puerto Rico, he currently resides in Simpsonville with his wife, Melissa, with whom he has three children, Connor, Tess, and Mia. In his spare time, He enjoys playing golf, watching films, and spending time with his family.
Commencement, the university-wide graduation ceremony, is held at the end of the fall and spring semesters to celebrate summer, December, and May graduates.
Degrees are officially conferred at Commencement. Filled with pageantry, this ceremony includes an address from NGU President Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr., and the Commencement speaker, Doctoral degree, undergraduate, and master’s candidates are recognized individually during the ceremony.
