NGU Ranks Among Most Affordable Online Doctorate in Educational Leadership Programs

Tigerville, SC (February 28, 2019) Although a master’s degree is considered the minimum qualification for positions in the field of educational leadership, students can further boost their standing in the job market by earning an online Doctor in Educational Leadership. This specialized academic field is dedicated to the administration and management of learning institutions at all grade levels, from universities, colleges, and other post-secondary education providers to pre-K and elementary schools.

Affordable Schools, a leading higher education resource, helps adults of all ages and backgrounds obtain a high-quality education while avoiding huge college costs and in many cases huge college debt, which can hover over their lives for years. The skills and knowledge gained from a doctoral degree in educational leadership can help education professionals enact necessary change in their school systems and institutions of higher education. Graduates of these programs enhance their ability to effectively lead districts, schools, teachers, and programs as well as implement development and reform programs.

Professions in educational leadership include curriculum developers, admissions officers, college deans, school superintendents, vice principals, and principals.

“We are very proud of our Ed.D. program in Educational Leadership.  Not only the affordability of the program but also the quality of the program.  We have experts in the field of educational leadership instructing our courses and providing both our K-12 and higher education students with the knowledge and confidence to be educational leaders themselves,” said Dean of the Graduate School of Education Dr. Shelley Dugle.  “Our 60-hour program is rich in research, and we successfully guide our cohorts through the program from coursework to dissertation.”

The Doctor of Education program at NGU provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to attain leadership positions in either higher education or K-12 settings. The program consists of 60 credit hours of study, and it is organized into eight-week terms. Some classes are provided entirely online, in hybrid formats, or one-week intensives. Areas of study include systems thinking, social intelligence, professional development, problem-solving, higher-order cognitive skills, and applied research. Teaching experience is not required for admission, but those who are working may benefit from the flexibility of the program.
