NGU Adult and Graduate Studies and GSHRM Host Hiring Heroes’ Lunch & Learn
North Greenville University’s Office of Adult and Graduate Admissions and Greenville Society for Human Resource Management (GSHRM) are pleased to co-sponsor a free human resources lunch and learn seminar to be held on Wednesday, March 7 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Tim Brashier Campus in Greer located at 405 Lancaster Avenue.
Dr. Ed Sherbert will present his seminar titled “Hiring Heroes: Recruiting and Retaining Veterans.” In this engaging presentation, open to HR managers, veterans, local business owners, administrators, as well as students and alumni, Sherbert will address relevant topics including strategies for creating veteran-friendly organizations, recognition of veteran skill-sets, and the veteran-employee value proposition.
The seminar has been approved for one Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) credit and one Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) credit.
Sherbert is an accomplished HR practitioner with over 35 years of industry experience including numerous managerial and executive level positions, culminating in the development of his own HR consulting firm. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he possesses a deeply personal understanding and connection to other combat veterans. Moreover, he possesses extensive “hands on” HR experience in union and non-union environments, both domestically and internationally, as a practitioner and consultant. He is terminally degreed in HR Management, has published numerous professional articles, and serves as a subject matter expert and faculty member for both North Greenville University’s Graduate School of Business and the SHRM organization. Moreover, he served as a past SHRM certification examination question writer, and has most recently been recognized officially as a SHRM ambassador.
Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Networking opportunities are available beginning at 11:30 am and the seminar will begin promptly at noon.
