MBA Alum Jon Scott Grateful for Professors Guidance with Start of New Business
Posted on: February 3, 2021
Jon Scott is a 2012 Master of Business Administration program graduate through North Greenville University’s T. Walter Brashier Graduate School. Jon’s education, coupled with his experience in the IT Sector has spawned his unique new business venture.
In 2017, Scott founded Scopestack, a unique sales automation tool for the IT Service provider community. Scopestack enables engineers to accurately price professional services, reduce time to scope, and allow IT organizations to track and manage professional service engagements.
When asked why he chose NGU’s MBA program, Jon states that he “heard about NGU’s program through word-of-mouth in the area.” A peer at his work had started the program around the same time and the program’s rigor, alongside its biblical integration was what Jon was looking for. Jon was also “attracted to the combination of venues for learning: both virtual and brick and mortar.” Most of NGU’s graduate degrees may be completed on campus in Greer, South Carolina, online, or in a hybrid format.
Jon credits his professors, specifically Dr. Tracy Kramer, for the guidance she gave him as a student and an alumnus in his new business venture. “The most important aspect of help came after I graduated. My professors are [still] great advisors and offer me very sound advice,” he said. “This [continued help from professors] is the biggest thing that stuck out to me and one of the biggest reasons I would recommend NGU.”
Though early in its life cycle, ScopeStack is projecting to onboard up to 35 clients by the end of the year with a potential seven figure revenue stream.
