Greer Campus to Present HR Professional Development Seminar

james silversTigerville, SC (January 17, 2020)North Greenville University’s Tim Brashier Campus in Greer will offer a professional development seminar on Thursday, January 30 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. The topic, “Drug Testing and the Impact of CBD Oil” will be presented by James R. Silvers with Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak, & Stewart, P.C.

With the rise in the use of CBD products, there are growing concerns about the possibility of CBD products showing up on the drug screen. This seminar will answer the question, “Is this a legitimate concern.”

Silvers will lead this session and cover topics that include SC drug testing requirements, workers’ compensation premium discount for drug testing, requirements for denying unemployment for a positive drug screen, and the rise of CBD oil and related products and what the future may hold.

This event is co-sponsored by GSHRM and is approved for one PDC for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. Approval for one hour of HRCI general recertification credit is pending.
