The Board of Director from Conference Carolinas voted to begin conference play for the Spring semester of 2021. Conference schedules have been established for all Conference Carolinas sports with men and women’s basketball and men’s volleyball beginning play in January. NGU’s Athletic Department remains committed to academic and athletic success, spiritual growth, and serving others on and off the field. Participation in intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the overall educational experience at NGU, and we seek to preserve that commitment during this period of modified operations due to COVID-19. We will continue to monitor guidelines issued by the NCAA, Conference Carolinas and the Gulf South Conference as we adopt practices and procedures designed to be in the best interest of our student-athletes and the broader community.
To the degree that it can, the Athletic Department endeavors to maintain a high-quality, competitive athletics program consistent with NGU’s mission and traditions.
Athletes will undergo an enhanced screening regime that includes self-examinations prior to workouts and throughout the day. The athletic training staff will facilitate temperature checks of student-athletes daily. COVID-19 test will be conducted on student-athletes per the guidelines and recommendations of the NCAA, Conference Carolinas and Gulf South Conference.
