New Doctoral Concentrations ‘to Tailor Studies to Specific Ministry Goals’

Tigerville, SC (May 25, 2022) Starting this fall, North Greenville University (NGU) will offer new doctoral concentrations in Great Commission, Biblical Preaching, Christian Leadership, and Christian Ministry in its Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree program to prepare students for their specific ministry goals. The program is based in NGU’s Graduate School of Christian Ministry housed at the T. Walter Brashier Graduate School in Greer.
NGU’s DMin online hybrid program allows students to pursue their Great Commission purpose without leaving their calling. The 36-month, 32-credit program is conveniently tailored to speed through or go slower if life gets too hectic.
“For over a decade, the Doctor of Ministry degree has been one of our flagship graduate programs at North Greenville University. Dr. Larry McDonald is widely respected as a ‘pastor of pastors.’ Under his leadership, the DMin has equipped pastors and other ministers to grow in their personal walks with Christ and become more faithful ministry leaders,” said NGU Provost and Dean of the University Faculty Dr. Nathan A. Finn. “Adding concentrations is the next step in the maturation of our DMin program. We believe these revisions will be attractive to prospective students and help them better tailor their doctoral studies to their specific ministry goals.”
The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program is designed for current and future leaders who seek a professional degree with opportunities for research, teaching, and even more ministry impact. This unique degree incorporates intensive academic studies and applied courses in which students implement what they learn in a ministry setting. Students in the program also benefit from faculty mentors who offer insights from their areas of academic expertise and decades of practical field experience.
“The expansion of the DMin program with its new concentrations allows us to build upon and strengthen the reach and depth of our already successful degree. Students will be challenged and stimulated while studying with professors like Nathan Finn, Richard Blackaby, Travis Agnew, and Michael White,” said Associate Provost of Graduate Programs and Dean of the T. Walter Brashier Graduate School Dr. Larry McDonald. “This program will take ministers even deeper in their walks with Christ as well as assist them with growing in their preaching and leadership skills. This experience will not only transform our students’ lives but also the lives to which our students minister.”
