Coming from a dysfunctional family from a 3rd world country, and the son of an alcoholic father (now deceased), there might have not been much hope for me. However, in the grace of God, He led me thru my problematic childhood (including serious asthma problems, on top of it all), and He allowed me to continue studying. I loved reading, studying, learning, going to school, unlike many others my age, including my siblings. I started learning languages since I was little (including sign language and English, apart from my native Spanish). I also loved math and reading. I learned so much. And the greatest thing happened when I was 12: I met HIM!! Then I met Monica, who I married in 1996, and a son, Victor Jr, came to us when we moved to the USA in 1998. AnD NOW God has me here in the USA, as an Associate Pastor, Worship leader, church leader, college professor, and Chair of the languages Dept at NGU. Only God can do this! To HIM, and just to HIM, be the Glory.
Favorite Course to Teach:
I love teaching linguistics, especially topics as syntax and morphology. These nuances of language structuring are mind-boggling. It shows me that there has to be a God behind language creation. But honestly, hard to pick. I loved teaching TESOL, Spanish, and Bible, and music, and sports!
