“He is no fool who gives up what he cannot have, to gain what he cannot lose.” – Jim Elliott, Martyred Missionary 1956
I had my schooling in the Pacific Northwest, lived all over the country and then the Lord brought me to South Carolina in 2001. I have worked in Baptist circles ever since including SC Baptist churches, the SC Baptist Convention, and SC Associational office. I have seen God’s hand in allowing me to work in ministry most of my professional life. I am thankful to be a part of the NGU family and the Admissions Team.
I was raised in a strong Christian home and early in my life Christ became my Savior and my focus. I remember at 13 choosing a “mantra” (vision statement often called today) – “I do not want Christ to be a part of my life, I want Christ to be my life and for others to see Him through me.” I have always tried to live my life with that mantra in mind. Although my life has brought many difficulties, which I never expected, my God has been faithful and provided everything I needed and more – how can I not desire to bring Him the glory He deserves in whatever I do?
