NGU Theatre presents “Reap the Whirlwind”

February 11 | 7:30 pm 9:30 pm

An original piece by Dr. Web Drake

Seventeen-year old Hal Brody learns the theory of evolution in his high school biology class and disavows his family’s religion, driving his loving but devout father to take extreme measures to reclaim his son. Jon David Brody decides to sue the school system of Topeka, KS. Deciding that “it’s not the fights you win that matter, it’s the ones you show up for,” the recently out of work accountant serves as his own counsel against one of the top law firms in the state. Despite pleas from his wife and son, Brody will not be dissuaded. Putting experts, as well as his son’s girlfriend on the stand, Brody challenges the assumptions and evidence for the theory that has dominated the history of biology for the last 150 years.
