On-campus mission trip
reaches goals
Work week sees projects completed, faculty and
staff grow closer
Tigerville,
SC - The first week of August saw over 100 faculty and staff from North
Greenville University working together to help get the campus ready for
students coming this fall.
Employees worked on projects across Tigerville - finishing
University owned houses, painting residence halls, remodeling older
buildings for new purposes and enhancing the new athletic complex.
"We've got a lot of growth happening and a lot of students
coming," said NGU President Dr. Jimmy Epting. "We thank the Lord for what
He's doing. We are experiencing growing pains, but these are good problems
to have."
Enrollment is expected to be another record with early
estimates over 1,900 students this fall. Because of the number of students
and the fire damage to
Vandiver Residence Hall, the work week was needed to accommodate the
influx of students.
Most volunteers stopped by their office before heading to the
work site where team leaders held devotions every morning. All the
volunteers gathered for lunch in Hayes Ministry Center, went back out and
worked until everyone went home tired but satisfied.
