Presidential candidate makes pitch on campus
Mike Huckabee's campus appearance brought media to NGU

Tigerville, SC - Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's SC campaign swung through the North Greenville University campus on his way to a second place showing in the state's Republican Primary. Huckabee delivered his stump speech to hundreds of students and supporters jammed into Todd Dining Hall. NGU President Dr. Jimmy Epting asked the candidate to share his personal testimony, which he did. After shaking hands with many of those in attendance, Huckabee went into the Hartness President's Dining Room for a press event. He signed a "No Amnesty Pledge" from NumbersUSA, an anti-illegal immigration group, and took questions from some of the media.

The event not only brought local and national media to the campus, Huckabee's campaign stop brought NGU to the nation and the world. The university was mentioned on all of the cable news channels, many of the network morning news show and has been featured in newspapers such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe and Toronto Star. An article by Dr. Reggie Ecarma, associate professor of Mass Communication, appeared online at Baptist Press.
