Caner, D'Souza headline Christian Worldview Week

Tigerville, SC - Dr. Ergun Caner and Dinesh D'Souza will open the 2008 Christian Worldview Week at North Greenville University on Monday, March 17. The week will also feature Frank Reich, Dr. Ron Marks and worship leader Calvin Hunt.

Monday morning at 10:00 am, Dr. Ergun Caner, noted author, speaker, and President of Liberty Theological Seminary will deal with how Christians must be prepared to confront the teaching and rapid spread of radical Islam. When Caner was named to his current position in 2005, he became the first former Muslim to become the leader of an evangelical seminary. He has written fourteen books, including When Worldviews Collide, on the subject of Global Apologetics and defending the Christian faith. Caner has debated leaders from global religions over 60 times and has been interviewed on Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC, the BBC, and TBN.

On Monday evening beginning at 7:00 pm, Dinesh D’Souza, author of the New York Times Best Seller What’s So Great About Christianity, will be the keynote speaker. D’Souza has debated numerous leading atheists including Christopher Hitchens. A former policy analyst in the Reagan White House, D’Souza has written eight best-selling books. His articles have appeared in virtually every major magazine and newspaper. He has appeared on numerous television programs, including the Today Show, O’Reilly Factor, and Hannity and Colmes. He is one of the most articulate Christian Apologists in America.

Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm, North Greenville welcomes Frank Reich, former NFL quarterback
who engineered the greatest comeback in NFL history. Reich led the Buffalo Bills to score 38 second half points to beat the Houston Oilers after trailing 35 to 3 early in the second half. After the game, Reich gave all the glory to Christ quoting the lyrics of In Christ Alone. In recent years, Frank has served as president of the Reformed Theological Seminary and as the Pastor of Cornerstone Church, both located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Reich will be talking about how to effectively present the Christian Worldview in the public arena.

Christian Worldview Week will wrap up on Wednesday at 10:00 am with Dr. Ronald Marks,
Associate Professor of Chemistry and Physical Science at NGU. Marks has done extensive research and writing concerning how the Christian Worldview intersects with Science. He will be speaking about how believers must be prepared to answer the arguments against the existence of God that come from the scientific community.

In addition to this excellent line up of speakers, we are very excited to have Calvin Hunt, formerly with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Now a Dove Award Nominee in his own right, Hunt has a dramatic and inspirational testimony of how God delivered him from a deadly crack cocaine addiction. He will be leading in worship during all services.
